Today was free day! So of course we slept in. Kind of. Marie reports that when an EXTREMELY loud garbage or construction truck or something was outside our hotel window for 20 minutes at like 7am she heard me whip off my sheets, stomp to the window, slam it shut, and then stomp back to bed and throw my sheets back over me. It was not a happy awakening. We did still have a slow start to the day, got breakfast, and then went back to our hotel room to be productive (more blog posting). We planned to meet with our group (me, Marie, Audrey, Ellie, Annie, Sienna, and Sarah) at 12 so we headed down there and got on our way to the Sacre-Couer (Sacred Heart) cathedral. We stopped at a boulangerie (bakery) on our way of course, and I got my first French macaron, which I ate at the cathedral.

After going in the cathedral, we wandered around the little town for a while, and then headed to the Malais district for some shopping. I was an unsuccessful shopper unfortunately, but I did get some delicious ice cream at Bachir. It was Lebanese ice cream and they ice cream is super stretchy and smooth and they roll it in pistachios. It was SO yum (but very expensive haha).
Ellie and I got McDonald’s for dinner and it was definitely comparable to the U.S. I got a cute little Happy Meal which apparently came with drinkable apple sauce. I thought it was a juice box so that was a bit of a weird surprise when I took my first sip.
Our plan for the rest of the night was to go back to the Eiffel Tower, so we headed to do that. I think that I should start a new career path and be a photographer because look at this framing job.
Phenomenal if I do say so myself. We took some cutie pictures by the Seine River and just had fun chatting until the Eiffel Tower started sparkling! We took some more cutie pictures and made some tik toks haha. I think we’re going to be famous!
We stopped to get crepes on our way back (of course!) and then headed home. Yay free day!
